Account, language and notifications
Set English, manage visual preferences and distinguish panel reminders from Discord messages.
My account contains your sign-in identity and servers. Your My profile page belongs to the server currently open and shows your staff record and responsibilities.
Check your identity
Section titled “Check your identity”Open your account from your name in the navigation. Check the displayed Discord name and ID; copy the ID for your manager if your profile is not recognized. For a different Discord account, sign out and verify the account offered during the next authorization. Matching display names do not prove matching identities.
Choose English
Section titled “Choose English”Open My account, choose English in the language preference, save and wait for confirmation. The saved preference follows your account on later sign-ins. In the demo, language stays in your browser and does not change other visitors’ sessions.
The website’s language menu changes the interface. Shared bot notifications use the server setting Settings → General → Bot language. Your personal language can also be chosen in /staffnest → Preferences and is shared with the panel.
Content written by your team is not automatically translated. Discord displays command and parameter names according to the language of your Discord app; see the English reference. This guide offers French and English through its language selector.
Theme and seasonal effects
Section titled “Theme and seasonal effects”Use the sun/moon button for the panel’s theme. The preference is saved in that browser; the guide has its own theme selector.
Seasonal effects can be hidden in your account preferences. During an event, the small icon near the StaffNest logo also opens the ambience menu, including the event’s message and link. It stays available when effects are hidden so you can re-enable them.
This visual preference affects your browser, not other people. Reduced-motion preferences disable animations automatically, although small decorations may remain. Decorative particles do not intercept clicks.
Read notifications
Section titled “Read notifications”Open the bell in your server navigation and inspect the sections permitted to you: tasks, onboarding, absences, applications, reports and meetings. Open an item to act on its record. Refresh if a recent change is missing.
Marking a notification as read does not complete a task, approve an absence or finish onboarding. A failed notification load is not evidence that nothing needs attention; retry or open the action inbox.
| Channel | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Panel bell | Accessible server information and personal reminders. |
| Task reminder | Panel notification for the task’s assignee at its configured time. |
| Bot daily summary | Optional Discord DM, enabled per server in /staffnest preferences and sent only when relevant. |
| Discord channel notification | Depends on module settings, publication or an automation. |
Check Discord privacy settings if DMs are blocked. Enabling the summary does not override them.
Sign out safely
Section titled “Sign out safely”Your active sessions lists unexpired sessions, their sign-in date and a coarse browser/device label. This session identifies your current connection. Use Sign out on a row and confirm to revoke only that session. Older sessions may have an unidentified device; this is not a history of every sign-in.
Save your work, then sign out from My account. Signing out does not remove your staff profile. Connection security also offers signing out of all devices, including the current one; this action is unavailable in the demo and certain assisted sessions. If it fails, retry and do not assume the sessions closed.
Ask your community’s manager about profile or permission changes. For personal-data questions, see Privacy. Never post private history, personal sign-in links or credentials in public support channels.
