Create a poll and read its results

Collect single- or multiple-choice votes and explain what the numbers mean.

Authorized server members can vote. Poll management is required to create, close, reopen or delete a poll. Tell the team whether its result decides an outcome or informs a discussion.

Open Polls, create a poll with a clear question and optional context, then add 2–10 answers. Enable multiple choice if people can select several options, and anonymous voting if voter names should not be displayed. Optionally choose an automatic closing date, create it and tell the team where to find it.

Creation is not a Discord announcement or a DM campaign. If options are meeting times, state the timezone in the description.

Choose the permitted number of options, vote and check the confirmation. While open, withdraw your vote to select again. Closed polls do not accept changed answers.

Participants are people who voted. In multiple-choice polls, votes can exceed participants, and an option’s percentage is relative to participants. Percentages can therefore add up to more than 100%.

Anonymous voting hides voter names in the poll interface. It is not a promise of irreversible anonymization of every service record.

Closing preserves results among completed polls. Reopening lets you choose a new future closing date while preserving votes. Leave the date empty only if you want no automatic closing. An open poll also offers Change deadline to extend or remove its deadline. Deleting removes the poll and its votes. Close it instead when the results should remain available.

If a vote is refused, check the selected server, whether the poll is still open, its deadline and the single-/multiple-choice setting. Refresh after a concurrent change.
