Join your team and find your way
Find your staff profile, tasks and onboarding steps from your first sign-in.
If your community already uses StaffNest, join its existing workspace. You do not need to install the bot or set up another server.
Open the right workspace
Section titled “Open the right workspace”- Sign in with Discord, using the account your manager knows.
- Open your community in My servers.
- Check the server name in the navigation. The members, tasks and permissions belong to that server.
- Open My profile to find your rank, departments, functions and follow-up manager.
If the server is missing, ask your manager to check your staff profile and Discord ID. Use any invitation they sent with the matching account. See servers and invitations.
My account controls your StaffNest identity and preferences. My profile is your staff record in the current server. Your responsibilities can differ between communities.
Start your day
Section titled “Start your day”| What you need | Where to go |
|---|---|
| Requests needing attention | Overview, then the action inbox. |
| Work assigned to you | Tasks in List or Kanban view. |
| Team instructions | Wiki, within your permitted pages. |
| Your onboarding steps | Your profile’s onboarding journey and Training. |
| Report an absence | /absence or /staffnest in Discord. |
| Attend a meeting or answer a poll | Meetings or Polls. |
Read a task’s description and deadline, mark it in progress when you start, explain any blockers, and mark it done when the work is complete. See tasks.
For onboarding, review the required steps and courses. Contact your mentor if a review is missing. Finishing training and having a trial period approved are separate decisions. See training.
Find a record quickly
Section titled “Find a record quickly”Use Search… at the top of the panel, Ctrl + K on Windows or ⌘ + K on Mac. Enter at least two characters to look for an accessible member, task, ticket, wiki page or department. Arrow keys move through results; Enter opens a result.
Search respects your permissions and the current server. If a record is missing, check the module and clear its filters. The search on this documentation site searches explanations, not your team’s private records.
Work on mobile or in Discord
Section titled “Work on mobile or in Discord”On a phone, open the navigation menu to switch sections. Tables may become cards. Scroll to the save action in a form and wait for confirmation before closing it.
The bot’s personal workspace also handles tasks, absences, meeting responses and preferences. Personal menus are visible only to you, but saved changes affect the team’s shared records.
Before you leave
Section titled “Before you leave”Save your changes. An unsaved-changes warning helps prevent accidental loss; it does not save the form for you. Sign out through My account on a shared device.
For language, theme and reminders, see Account and notifications.
