Read statistics and the activity log
Understand periods, cumulative counters and the limits of team activity indicators.
Statistics describe recorded activity over time. The leaderboard compares member counters. The activity log helps locate a particular change. These views answer different questions.
Analyze a period
Section titled “Analyze a period”With statistics access, open Statistics, choose 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, check the displayed dates and inspect the daily records graph. The graph’s value table provides a text alternative. Refresh for a new snapshot.
Days use Europe/Paris and include the current, still incomplete day. Sanctions count records created in the period, even if later lifted. Absences count requests submitted in the period, not the days away. Applications count receipt dates regardless of their current decision. Active days contain at least one accessible recorded event.
These values do not measure working time or all Discord activity. Restricted or unavailable data is excluded; a dash is not necessarily zero.
Compare like with like
Section titled “Compare like with like”Current headcount and pending requests are snapshots and do not switch period when you choose seven or thirty days. Queues can include older requests. Current staff counts exclude former and blacklisted members; historical sanction authors may include former staff.
Leaderboard actions, messages, voice and presence counters are cumulative; there is no period selector in that view. Its scope may include former members. Presence means recorded activity days, not Discord’s online indicator. Message counting does not imply storing conversation text. With more than ten profiles, zero-valued members can be hidden for the selected metric.
Use counts as a starting point for discussion, then examine responsibilities, cases and tasks. Department statistics provide another team-level view.
Find a change in the activity log
Section titled “Find a change in the activity log”With View activity log, open Activity log, choose a category, search for the target and adjust dates. Use the actor filter across all permitted results, then browse the pages. Read the actor, action, target and available before/after details. Some details require the relevant module permissions.
The log covers recorded StaffNest events, not all external Discord actions. Export all results downloads every permitted page matching the current category, target search, date and actor filters. Without filters, it includes the complete log available to your role. Dates use UTC and structured details are preserved as JSON. You can cancel while preparing the file. If access changes during export, the download is stopped instead of presenting a partial file as complete. Category badges outside the selected category may reflect the loaded page.
Investigate a surprising number
Section titled “Investigate a surprising number”Check the server, dates, timezone, filters and metric definition. Compare matching periods or matching cumulative totals. Refresh, then provide support with the screen name, filters and a privacy-safe screenshot if a discrepancy remains unexplained.
Compare two periods
Section titled “Compare two periods”The comparison table shows the selected period and the immediately preceding interval of equal elapsed duration. Today is partial; exact boundaries are displayed. An unavailable source is not shown as zero. When the previous period has zero events, only the absolute difference is shown, without a misleading percentage.
The leaderboard uses cumulative totals, including former members. Its snapshot is dated; Refresh loads a new snapshot.
