Frequently asked questions

Find quick answers about access, Discord, tasks, support and team management.

StaffNest is free without a subscription. Connect your Discord account and use the features available for your server. The getting-started guide covers installation.

Yes. Each community has separate members, records and settings. Switch through My servers and check the server name before acting. See servers and invitations.

The /staffnest workspace supports everyday tasks, absences, meetings, departments and preferences. The panel provides broader views and detailed configuration. See the Discord guide.

Does Discord Administrator grant every StaffNest permission?

Section titled “Does Discord Administrator grant every StaffNest permission?”

No. Discord and StaffNest permissions are separate. Some commands need Discord permissions as well as panel authorization. Ranks, departments, functions and panel roles also have different purposes. See permissions.

Why do I see fewer requests than a colleague?

Section titled “Why do I see fewer requests than a colleague?”

Your permissions, filters, selected server and ticket category restrictions determine what is visible. Clear filters and ask a manager to check access before reporting a missing record.

Does Kanban include applications and tickets?

Section titled “Does Kanban include applications and tickets?”

Kanban is for internal tasks. Applications, absences, reports and tickets remain in the action inbox’s List view and their modules. Completed tasks remain in the completed list or Done column. See tasks.

The task deadline reminder is a panel notification. The optional bot daily summary is a separate DM setting for each server. See notifications.

Does accepting an application create a staff member?

Section titled “Does accepting an application create a staff member?”

After accepting, use the arrival flow to verify identity, create or link a staff profile and choose access. Trial approval is still manual. Internal recruitment notes are not candidate messages. See recruitment.

Why can I see a ticket record but not its Discord channel?

Section titled “Why can I see a ticket record but not its Discord channel?”

Panel access and Discord channel permissions are separate. Check the support member’s Discord roles. Closing keeps the channel read-only and may archive it; it does not automatically delete it. Ticket assignment time measures first assignment, not the first written reply. See tickets.

New rules save paused after simulation, then need explicit activation. Simulation sends nothing. Pausing stops future runs without undoing prior actions. Inactivity alerts normally handle one member once per inactivity period, but duplicate rules can generate additional messages. See automations.

Can I test without contacting real members?

Section titled “Can I test without contacting real members?”

The demo uses fictional data; ticket publication and Discord diagnostics are disabled there. Automation simulation shows effects without applying them. Neither is proof of real Discord delivery.

FiveM, Minecraft and Garry’s Mod connectors are currently dormant. You can organize those communities in StaffNest, but that does not mean game-server actions synchronize with the product.

Wiki pages and reports have a thirty-day restoration period. Other items have different rules: a closed ticket, completed task and former member are preserved through their own workflows. See archives and trash.

Language is in My account; shared bot notifications use the server’s bot-language setting. Ownership uses the dedicated transfer process, not a rank change.

Return to the form with the same Discord account. If the position has closed, contact its team. A missing DM does not prove submission failed. See applying or troubleshooting.
