Write and share the internal wiki

Document procedures, control access and maintain a useful version history.

The wiki stores your server’s rules and procedures. Members read permitted pages; wiki managers create and edit them.

Open Wiki, create a page, give it a clear title and category, write the content, review the preview, choose its audience and save.

Use headings, lists, links and the Markdown toolbar. A practical procedure explains its expected result, required access, numbered steps and common problems. Internal links connect related wiki pages without copying the same instructions everywhere.

A page can be available to all staff, or limited to members of selected departments and wiki managers. A restricted page needs at least one department. If the department list fails to load, existing restrictions are preserved; do not assume they disappeared.

“All staff” does not publish the page to the internet. Sharing its URL does not bypass permissions.

Open the page, edit, check the preview and audience, then save. If another manager edited it meanwhile, reload the current version before continuing.

History lets you inspect previous revisions. Restoring a revision loads its old title and content into the editor; review it and save to apply it. History also respects access restrictions.

Pin frequently used procedures. Use categories and search for the rest. Review indicators flag pages unchanged for more than ninety days; age alone does not mean the content is wrong. Check people, rules, links and steps, then save relevant updates.

To remove an obsolete page, check its title and confirm deletion. Wiki pages can be restored from trash within the allowed period. Review other pages linking to it.

If a page cannot be found, clear search and category filters, then ask a manager to check visibility, department membership and whether it was deleted.

The 90-day review indicator uses the last content edit or confirmed review. Pinning a page does not reset it. After checking a procedure, choose Reviewed and still valid to record the review without rewriting its content. A later content change resets this confirmation.
